Procedure
Testing procedure:
- Introduction
- Preparing the sample
- Sample: Draw lines in x- and y-direction to define Lo and Wo
- Notice measurement data in the datasheet
- Preparing the test
- Turn on the machine (if necessary) and open the Erichsen deep drawing machine
- Take the matrix out of the machine
- Prepare the Tribo-foil-sandwich (Teflon-Oil-Mipolan-Oil-Teflon) and put it into the machine
- Put the sample straight and centric into the machine with the prepared side to the top
- Put the matrix on top of the sample into the machine (don't forget!)
- Close the Erichsen deep drawing machine
- Performing the test
- Raise the sheet holder force
- Start the punch
- Observe the experiment
- Stop the machine when the crack occurs
- Finishing the test
- Drive back the punch and wait until the machine has stopped
- Open the Erichsen deep drawing machine
- Take out the sample
- Measuring the sample
- Measure L1 and W1
- Notice measurement data in the datasheet

Forming-Limit-Diagram (FLD)
Result of measurement
The student should create a Forming-Limit-Diagram. Therefore a conventional deep drawing steel with 3 Nakajima FLC500 geometries is used, that create characteristic tension states in the sample.

- Take the matrix out of the machine
- Prepare the Tribo-foil-sandwich and put it into the machine
- Put the sample straight and centric into the machine with prepared side to the top
- Put the matrix on top of the sample into the machine
- Close the deep drawing machine
The test
- Raise the sheet holder force
- Start the punch
- Observe the experiment
- Stop the machine when the crack occurs
Finishing
- Drive back the punch and wait until the machine has stopped
- Open the Erichsen deep drawing machine with both hands
- Take out the sample
- Take out the Tribo-foil-sandwich
Measuring
- Measure L1 and W1
- Notice measurement data in the datasheet
